Women's Meeting - Teaching
February 10th, 2018
Who are we? What does it mean to be in Christ? The theme of this year’s women’s ministry is In Him. We are in Christ, our primary identity is wrapped up in who he is. And this is such good news!
Join the women of Sovereign Grace Church for a time of fellowship and teaching. The morning begins at 9am with a light breakfast, followed by worship in song, and teaching by Delaine Gamache. Then we will have a chance to grow and bond as the women of SGC through discussion.
Let us band together and pursue Christ together!
February 10th, 9-11am, at Oak Grove Middle School.
February 17th, 2018
“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
Join us for the next Act Like Men meeting where we will take an honest look at what it means for men to walk in holiness by pursuing purity of heart and purity in life. Every man, from youth to adult, should attend this meeting because together we want to pursue holiness by putting away sin.
This month, we will have a guest speaker. Sergeant Grant Snyder has spent nearly 30 years focusing on investigations, advocacy and research involving victims of sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and commercial sexual exploitation. He has worked in both the public and private sectors, to include both federal and local law enforcement agencies, and various non-profits. Currently, he is a detective with the Minneapolis Police Department, Special Crimes Investigation Division. Sgt Snyder is a frequent speaker and trainer, and has consulted with and trained police departments and investigators across the United States. Sgt Snyder holds a Bachelor's degree of individualized studies (BIS) from the University of Minnesota, and has competed graduate work at the same institution. Currently, he is enrolled in the Masters of Divinity Program at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.

Bridges: A Powerful Course Paving the Way for Fruitful Relationships with Muslims
February 25th - April 1st, 2018
All too often, we as Christians can respond to Muslims without the compassion that characterized Jesus. Bridges seeks to replace fear with love and gentle boldness, reshaping the way Christians respond to their Muslim neighbors.
Bridges focuses on similarities, not differences. Despite deep differences in Christianity and Islam, areas of overlap exist, providing common ground upon which to connect. Bridges teaches how to use similar concepts in Christianity and Islam as a bridge to understanding and open hearts.
Bridges meets you where you are. Bridges content is understandable even without much prior knowledge of Islam, and deep enough to be valuable to those seeking to build on what they already know about Muslims.
Bridges is practical and biblical. Bridges allows you to gain biblical insight into Islamic history and Muslim beliefs, while providing useful next steps and stories that help you put the teaching into practice.
Bridges is widely used and respected. From full-time missionaries to informal small-groups, Bridges is a trusted resource for thousands of Christians globally, and comes strongly recommended by respected Christian leaders.
The Bridges Course will be taught over 6 consecutive weeks on Sunday Mornings at Oak Grove Middle School. 8:30-9:45am.
The $10 registration fee covers course materials and refreshments. Register Here

“O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.” -Psalm 71;17-18 The mission of Proclaim is to delight in, display, and declare the gospel of Jesus in the unique stage of life, 50+. Join us for quarterly meetings where we can eat together, learn about each other, form new friendships, sit under gospel-centered teaching, and serve those inside and outside the group. Money and the Gospel
April 8th - April 29th, 2018
Money and the Gospel is a four week introduction to learning and applying the implications of the gospel to money. The gospel transforms everything and therefore our priorities shift in regards to money as we align all of our lives with God’s mission and purposes.
Join us in taking those next steps towards stewarding money well as we look at how to view money, priorities, spending, and budgeting through the lens of the gospel. You will develop a budget as well as have the opportunity to meet individually (as a couple if married) with a financial counselor who will help you develop and implement your plan. Waldean Wall, a member of Sovereign Grace, has developed and written our material and will be teaching this interactive class. He has many years experience in helping others examine their financial priorities and developing a plan to live out those priorities.
• The class will meet: Sundays from 8:30am – 9:45am at Oak Grove • The class is free! • Childcare is available.
Please RSVP for this event.
Marriage Seminar w/ Ray and Jani Ortlund
May 4th - May 5th, 2018
“This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.” Ephesians 5:32
Marriage reveals something of eternal significance. From the beginning, God designed marriage to convey a greater reality—the passionate, unfailing, redeeming love of God for sinners, the eternal romance between Christ and his bride.
Tracing marriage throughout Scripture, from the first marriage in the garden of Eden to the ultimate marriage in the book of Revelation, this seminar will lay out a transcendent vision of marriage that dignifies our own imperfect unions as a display of the gospel, offering insight and hope to every married person.
